Powder Coating
Fire does happen in Powder Coating Booths. The process of electrostatic powder coating uses powder that is flammable. If there is powder in the correct concentration with oxygen and a spark of sufficient energy there will be a fire.
It has been a requirement of the design standards since 2005 that powder booths must have fire detection and enclosed extraction system must have a flame block Co2 system.

Liquid Painting Systems
If you process flammable liquid coatings you need fire protection to protect property and personnel.

Filters
(Lasers / shotblast)
Filters are being used to extract dusts from several production machines such as,
- Laser cutters
- Laser welders
- Shot blasters
These processes need to be protected from fire and explosion. Dusts are flammable and if there is a risk of a spark they will burn and could cause an explosion.
